The 22 hectares of vines belonging to The 3 Spings Vineyard , enjoy exceptional sun exposure and the famous Mistral wind’s cooling effect too.
With the Mediterranean wilderness as its only neighbour, the clayey-chalky, very stony soils of the coteaux bestow freshness and elegance to our wines.
The desire to work while respecting the earth and the vines, drove us to choose organic vineyard management in 2000 (ECOCERT certified).
Vineyard management is our priority because the quality of a wine depends on the quality of the grapes.
The biodiversity here enables us to intervene as little as possible. We leave nature to express the richness of its terroir.
Situated 17km north of Aix-en-Provence between Trévarèse and Durance, on the edge of the Luberon, Rognes is a lovely small Provencal village whose name first appears in 1092, as ‘Castrum de Rougnis’.
Hanging onto the terraced slopes of the Foussa hill, it was built, destroyed and rebuilt several times over the centuries until the terrible day in 1909 when an earthquake almost destroyed it completely and it was finally abandoned.
Today, the village still sits peacefully at the foothills and Rognes has nevertheless kept some tiny streets and old buildings that survived the disaster. The village which is famous for its quarries of freestone also has one of the best truffle markets, which takes place in the month of December.
Wine and vineyards also play a very important role in the local community.
